Some people use smoking as a way to cope with stress, but there are problems with using cigarettes to cope with unpleasant feelings.
Some people smoke to try to deal with stress. When they quit smoking, they may replace it with other unhealthy behaviors that do not address the source of stress and may even make stress worse. This can make quitting harder. Understand the connection between stress and smoking, and plan ahead to find better ways to deal with stress while quitting and after.
